Bonita C. Dent retired the Station Manager for Taxi Productions, Inc. dba KJLH-FM radio station serving the Southern California area in July 2018. She oversaw the day to day operations of the radio station, including programming, sales, fiscal policies and promotions. Her goal was to ensure the delivery of the “Radiofree” brand which promotes total music expression, including local, national and worldwide news. She believes in a “hands on” approach when it pertains to the production of local promotional and community outreach events. Bonita ensures that KJLH Radio is committed to providing a voice and services for the community. Annual events produced by KJLH Radio include providing necessary health services to women, feeding the homeless and providing toys for needy children every Christmas. On a national level, KJLH Radio raised and donated money to Hurricane Katrina victims and owner Stevie Wonder contributes by participating in many concerts to help all victims of unforeseen tragedies. The station also supports many gospel, R & B and jazz concerts by introducing new artists for the entertainment for the local community.
Bonita had over twenty-four years experience in the radio industry. Prior to becoming the KJLH Station Manager, she was the Controller, responsible for maintaining the fiscal policies and operations of the radio station. Bonita previously served as Chief Financial Officer for All Pro Broadcasting, Inc. where in addition to managing and consolidating the fiscal departments for 4 radio stations, she also prepared the financial information needed to secure loans for radio station acquisitions. Before her entrance into the broadcasting field, Bonita served as Controller for West Coast Beverage Company. While at West Coast Beverage Company, Bonita forecasted long-range financial goals and budgets, projected capital requirements and cash flow analysis for the acquisition of a major distribution company with gross sales of over $40 million annually.
Bonita has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from Pomona College in Claremont, Ca. which has broadened her financial and management career possibilities and expertise. She currently serves on several boards including REFRESH, Cecil Murray, Center for Community Engagement, Christ Our Redeemer AME Church, Fred Jefferson Memorial Group Homes, and Young Ladies with Potential of Orange County.
